During early vedic era women granted equal status as par with men . But in the later vedic era , they have to face many social evil like sati , purdah , polyandry and so on till mediaeval era . During colonial era the situation was alike . With the breath of independence it hoped that now things would be in our own hand . Eventually things had changed including indian agriculture , foreign policy , women’s situation. Women has started geting entry in combat forces , entrepreneurship, leadership , entertainment. But still their engagement is not equal . Their labour participation is still 18%percent. In police forces they are only 7%. What are the reasons behind ….. If any women is in job she needs to step out in this cruel world where her travel is not safe ,work environment is not friendly , public place are not safe . She have to face all the indarogatory remarks , unwanted behaviour in the buses , continuous starring . Even in the 70 years of independence our 50% population is still suffocating ,still not been able to enjoy the freedom that we got . Aren’t there any thing to stop this nonsense .
